Email filtering services provided by MX Logic works by having your email delivered to their filtering servers first (because your DNS MX records point there). Once filtered, their servers will deliver the messages to your email servers for ultimate delivery to your INBOX or other folders.
If a spammer knows what your “actual email servers” are (often because they didn’t change after adding MX Logic filtering), they can bypass your costly and very good filters by connecting directly to your email servers, thus taking the filtering servers “out of the loop”. What can you do?

LuxSci had made several improvements to its Widgets:
- Users can now make new entries in Blog widgets using either plain text or HTML editor modes. Which should be used is now configurable as a Blog Widget property.
- WebAide-based Widgets and RSS feeds now all have an optional “maximum height” property. Use this if you would rather the widget have an internal scroll bar and be shorter, rather than not scrolling and showing all applicable entries.
- The Email “Quick Check” widget now auto-checks the subscribed email folders every 2 minutes and updates the display of how many new and unread messages are in each of these folders.

We’ve received reports recently that many of our customers have been getting emails from Domain Registry of America saying that the transfer of their domain “not complete at this time”. These emails are very misleading and are made to look legitimate. This is basically a scam to get domain owners to transfer the registration of their domains over to Domain Registry of America. This type of marketing is called domain slamming.

LuxSci has just updated the interface for managing your workspaces of widgets. Previously, there was an “edit mode” where users could add, delete, and re-arrange widgets. This edit mode has been removed and all edit functions have been merged directly into the normal widget interface, making usage must more fast and natural.
Now, via the pop-up menu available in the right of each widget’s title bar, users can now:
- Delete the widget (remove it from the interface)
- Edit the widget’s properties and settings
Additionally, the “Customize Page” link at the top right of the workspace has been converted into a pop-up menu allowing users to:
- Add new widgets
- Increase or decrease the number of columns used for displaying widgets
- Reset the interface to the default set of widgets
- Get help
Finally, users can now click on the title bar of any widget and drag it to a new position; re-arranging widgets is now very easy.
Coming soon – create and share new widget workspaces! This feature will be available only to users with WebAide licences.

- Allows access to any document storage WebAide that you have access to — even shared ones.
- Allows viewing and downloading documents
- Allows uploading new documents to the WebAide storage location
- Allows deleting of unwanted documents.
- Allows you to specify how many documents to display at once and permits paging through all of the documents if there are many
- Color codes the documents by tag and uses icons to indicate the file types
- Allows showing only documents that are tagged with specific tags.
- The document list auto-updates to show changes to the underlying list of files.
File storage at LuxSci just got much quicker and easier. Using custom hot keys, users can access their documents instantly from any page of LuxSci’s web site. Documents are also now available in Mobile Mode via this new widget.

Web Bugs are images in HTML-formatted email messages that, when viewed, tell the sender of the message that you read the message. This mechanism of obtaining an essentially covert confirmation that (a) your email address is valid, (b) the email got past your filters, and (c) you actually read the message, is pervasively used by Spammers to identify what addresses are reading their messages.

LuxSci has increased the maximum size of a message that can be sent from WebMail from 50 megabytes to 70 megabytes. This refers to the raw size of the message content plus all attachments.
The encoded maximum size of message that can be sent or received via SMTP remains at 100 megabytes; however, this can be increased for customers with dedicated servers.
WebMail does not have any limit on the number of attachments, just on the overall size of attachments. WebMail supports receipt and viewing of messages that are up to 200MB in total (encoded) size.
