PDF forms are commonly made using programs like Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe LiveCycle Designer, while HTML forms are generally built by web designers with programming experience. As long as you are not using the form for HIPAA compliant purposes like collecting patient information, you should be able to use a 3rd party form design service like WuFoo to build and even host your form. Most of these companies offer API 'webhooks' that allow form data to post to an external server, and they provide documentation and support for this functionality. It is important to note that sometimes, depending on the service, posting data to an external server may negate some of their form feature, like Javascript validation for example. We recommend you investigate the integration capabilities of the company you wish to use, and we would be happy to review a company/service if you are uncertain whether it would work with SecureForm, simply contact us.

We do not recommend using these companies if you need HIPAA compliance because they normally store posted data on their own local databases which are likely not secure nor locked down enough to meet the HIPAA Technical Safeguard requirements for storage of electronic protected health information.
