May have once been true but no longer.  Since Snow Leopard and especially now in Lion, I have found Mail.app to be far more stable with my years of pack-rat email archives than Thunderbird (and certainly Outlook, which does terrible things if one&#039;s .pst file exceeds a certain limit).</description>
