While use of mobile devices and tablets in medical situations is pervasive; HIPAA compliant synchronization and storage of such information is often seriously lacking. Everyone knows email can contain ePHI, but calendar appointments, address books, and task lists can and do contain just as much ePHI and their secure use must be strictly enforced.
LuxSci’s WebAide collaboration tools, combined with MobileSync for real-time synchronization with mobile phone and tablets (and Outlook 2013), provide a simple and effective HIPAA compliant solution for synchronized mobile accessible calendars, contacts and reminders or tasks (oh ya, and email).

“I need to share our corporate calendar with all my employees, but only allow some people to edit it. … I need my staff to be able to access their calendars while on the road with events updated in real time. … My secretary needs to be able to manage my calendar without having full access to my other information. …. We have separate, overlapping groups of people who need to have multiple calendars shared with different sets of people; we need event assignment notices and reminders – can you help?”
Shared calendars and event collaboration are topics high on the priority list for many of our customers. Fortunately, LuxSci has a robust calendaring system complete with methods for fine-grained sharing, notifications, reminders, and access from desktop and mobile devices.

LuxSci’s WebAides empower you to collaborate on Calendars, Tasks, Contacts, Files, Links, Notes, Passwords, and more.
While you could always create multiple Documents containers for storing files, or multiple Address Books for contacts, there was not a way to organize via a nested file/folder structure (like the file structure on your computer) or to have Task lists organized in a hierarchical manner.

When health care organizations review their operations to see where electronic protected health information (ePHI) is being saved, transmitted, and viewed, a great deal of time is spent on the obvious candidates: email, chat, stored files and health records, etc.

LuxSci’s Outlook WebAideSynch Plugin allows users to import, export, and synchronize their WebAide Calendars, Tasks, and Address Books with Outlook 2002+ with the touch of a button.
This Outlook Plugin is now available free to all users; previously, an Enterprise WebAides license was required. This means that users who have not purchased an Enterprise WebAides license now have access to this plugin to synchronize their Calendar, Address Book, and any shared global WebAides with their Outlook client. Synchronizing with Outlook also makes it easy to synchronize with most mobile devices that have the ability to synchronize with Outlook.
Outlook WebAideSynch works with Outlook version 2002 and newer. Existing users can download and install this plugin from LuxSci’s help pages: WebAideSynch: Synchronization Plugin for Outlook.
