Frequently we are approached by customers who have automated systems that need to send out secured emails on demand and without any manual interaction. These could be web site response systems for sensitive information, health care labs emailing results which need to meet HIPAA compliance, or other situations where the email messages must all be secured.
LuxSci’s SecureLine service provides a means for encrypting some or all outbound email messages using any combination of 4 different email encryption techologies: SMTP TLS, PGP, S/MIME, and SecureLine Escrow (secure message pickup).

LuxSci’s High Volume Outbound Email Sending Service, released earlier this year, has been a notable success. Our service permits the sending of legitimate bulk email messages and also provides reliable “smarthost” services. However, the offering is restricted to SMTP services and does not include the many outbound email processing tools present in LuxSci’s Premium Email service. I.e. see LuxSci Outbound Email: 5 Sending Options Compared!
Since High Volume Mail was offered, we have had many requests to send HIPAA-compliant bulk outbound email, i.e. newsletters and notices that contain protected health information (PHI) . In such cases, SecureLine should be used to encrypt the outbound email in a way that can be opened by any recipient, but which is still secure. It used to be that to send an email, you had very few choices and even less control over what happened once the message was sent, how many emails you could send, or how you connected to the Internet to send email. Well, times have changed, the Internet has evolved, users are more savvy, and expectations are much higher.

In this article, we will describe each method, examine the pros and cons, and end with a feature chart. Our goal is to make your outbound email shopping experience straightforward and to provide you with an email service appropriate for your needs.

We have seen a steadily growing demand from existing and potential clients to send legitimate bulk mailings to their clients and subscribers. LuxSci’s policy has always been to deny such requests and pass them along to a strategic partner, or to allow them on a case by case basis at a premium cost after carefully reviewing the intent. Why? So that the outbound email servers used by our premium customers do not get on blacklists. You don’t want to mix mass mailing with normal business correspondence!
To meet this demand, LuxSci now offers the High Volume Outbound Email Service.
