Overview
Basic spam filtering and virus filtering highlights:
LuxSci's Basic email filtering service is a lower cost, yet effective,
alternative to our Premium Email
Filtering service. It uses a combination of SpamAssassin and Clam
anti-Virus for email filtering of unwanted or malicious messages.
Basic filtering is included in our standard user service bundle, but can be removed with
a-la-carte pricing.

Available to LuxSci Email Users: Service is available to any user of LuxSci's email hosting services.

users or on a user-by-user basis.

What to do with Viruses? You can decide if you want viruses-laden email to
be deleted or saved to an email folder of your choice.

Disable Virus Checking: You can choose to turn off virus scanning.

Spam Filtering: using SpamAssassin.

Probable vs. Definite Spam: The Spam filter will identify messages as Legitimate, Probably Spam, or Definitely Spam. You can configure the thresholds that determine what is considered probable and definite Spam.

Disable Spam Filtering: You can choose to turn off Spam filtering altogether.

White Listing: Support for per-user white lists of senders whose email should not
be considered Spam. White lists support the white listing of entire domains.

Address Book White Listing: Users can optionally white list all addresses in their
address books.

Black Listing: Support for per-user black lists of senders whose email should always
be considered Spam. Black lists support the black listing of entire domains.

Exempt Recipients Listing: If you receive email for many different addresses in your
single account and you want email send to particular addresses to be exempt from
Spam filtering,
you can make a list of these exempt recipient email addresses. Exempt
recipient lists support the exempting of entire domains.

Subject Line Tagging: You can choose to have the words

Spam Filter "Why" Reports: For messages determined to be Spam, you can choose to have
reports of why this is the case added to either the header or body of the Spam messages.
This can help you determine, for example, why a message was classified as Spam if it was
actually Legitimate.

Quarantined Mail Reports: For Spam and Virus messages messages saved to a folder,
you can receive daily emailed reports of what is new in these folders so that you can more easily
identify false positives.

Do you use POP? If you use POP, you can have SPAM saved to your INBOX and
use special headers in these messages to sort them in your email client as they
are downloaded.

Do you use IMAP or WebMail? If you use IMAP or WebMail, you can have SPAM
saved to a separate folder so that you can review it at your leisure and so that it
does not interfere with the legitimate email in your INBOX.
