LuxSci has been a partner of MX Logic since 2003, integrating with them to provide Premium Email Filtering and Premium Email Archival.

Over the weekend of Jan. 22-24, MX Logic will deploy a wide range of service and feature enhancements, many of which will reflect the initial phase of changes from MX Logic to McAfee (they were recently acquired by McAfee).  These changes include:

Portal Rebranding: The “Powered by MX Logic” and MX Logic logos will be replaced by McAfee taglines and logos.  Additionally, the names of various services in the McAfee portal will be changed:

• Email Defense -> Email Protection
• Message Continuity -> Email Continuity
• Message Archiving -> Email Archiving

Localization: MX Logic is increasing the supported languages for end-user pages, to include the following languages.

• Chinese, Simplified
• Chinese, Traditional
• Danish (New- Available 3/5/10)
• Dutch (New- Available 3/5/10)
• English
• Finnish (New- Available 3/5/10)
• French
• German
• Italian
• Japanese
• Korean

Localized What’s New content – Users will be able to view all What’s New content in their preferred language.

Directory Integration – Enable/disable chasing of LDAP referrals – Customers will be able, via a checkbox in the Portal authentication page (Account Management > Users > Authentication), to enable or disable Directory Integration from chasing referrals from the designated LDAP server to other LDAP service that might validate authentication credentials.

An LDAP authentication server on a customer’s network may be configured to refer an authentication request for a specific domain to a different LDAP server. The customer can disable the chasing of these referrals in the case where authentication requests are very slow because the referred-to LDAP server is intermittently unavailable or inaccessible to the Control Console.

Referral chasing will be enabled by default. Customers can uncheck the checkbox to turn it off.

Enforced TLS: MX Logic is launching Enforced TLS (Transport Layer Security), which will provide customers with the option to force inbound or outbound delivery of mail via TLS for specified domains. Once enabled, a message will be denied if TLS cannot be negotiated with the sending/receiving domain. Enforced TLS traffic will be reflected in Email Defense reports.

Enforced TLS extends the existing TLS implementation, which is opportunistic. Currently, if TLS can be negotiated between the sender and the destination, we deliver the mail over TLS. If TLS cannot be negotiated, then we deliver via SMTP.

Customers will have both TLS options – enforced and opportunistic – and both are available at no charge.  For more information related to this, see:

Note that LuxSci itself forces all email between MX Logic servers and LuxSci servers go over a TLS-secured channel.  This is systemwide and there is no need for any customer to configure anything to take advantage of this added security.

Message Archiving Service: Outlook 2003 Integration – A downloadable Outlook 2003/2007 integration add-in will be available that will enable Message Archiving Service Customer Administrators and authorized users to search for, view and save copies of archived messages directly through a Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007 email client.
