 LuxSci’s Widgets and Workspaces enable customers to create custom interfaces to work with our products in a way most appropriate to their business and workflow. They can create sharable spaces (Workspaces) and populate these with tools (Widgets) such as calendars, task boards, note pads, blogs, file storage areas, etc.
LuxSci has had a couple of Widgets that customers can use for interacting with their email including seeing new messages as they come in. Now, customers can add “Email Composition” widgets to their workspaces to view new email and compose email at the same time in the same workspace.

 Happens all the time — the need to take notes while reading email, accessing your calendar, or performing other actions. Taking notes is usually “too much work” unless they can be accessed instantly, auto-saved, and hidden when done.

 If you are like me, then you have a bunch of paper Post- it notes, note pads, and other ways to track your notes and “to do” lists. These lists are not with me everywhere, however. And I have found that using “to do” list software that requires you to go to a special page or run a special program to access the list is also not ideal — especially if that electronic ” to do” list is not immediately available from any computer that I may be using! I just never stick with it.
LuxSci WebAides and Workspaces provide an elegant solution that makes access to notes and “to do” lists (and many other productivity tools) quick and easy from any computer when accessing any page of your LuxSci web interface.

 LuxSci has added a new Widget to its inventory of pre-defined Widgets available to all users — the “Multi-Feed” Widget.
With the Multi-Feed widget, you can specify an arbitrary collection of news feeds from diverse sources and have them be all downloaded, sorted together by date, and displayed to you as an aggregate list of news items in your Workspace.
The Multi-Feed Widget supports:
- RSS Feeds
- Twitter update feeds (showing the tweets of everyone that you follow on Twitter)
- LuxSci WebAide Blogs
In the future, other feed sources will also be supported, such as facebook.

 LuxSci has added many new features to the email folder display widget. The email folder widget is available to all LuxSci customers whose email is hosted with LuxSci. This widgets can be added to any workspace so that the contents of any email folders, even shared ones, can be viewed and managed along side other information such as address books, calendars, notes, file storage areas, blogs, custom widgets, etc.

 LuxSci has released a new Widget which displays the contents of a selected email folder on any Workspace. Some of the features of this widget include:
- Displays all messages in the folder or only those tagged with a certain tag.
- Displays pages of messages at a time.
- Display is auto-updated every 2 minutes so that you quickly see new messages, deleted messages, and changes to message tags and status.
The Email Folders Widget can be added to any Workspace by any user with email services at LuxSci.

 Web-based collaborative environments, similar to Microsoft Sharepoint, are now offered by LuxSci.
For LuxSci users with a WebAide license, the widgetized “Welcome Page” area is now the “Workspaces” area. Here, licensed users can:
- Create any number of Workspaces with arbitrary configurations of widgets per workspace
- Share Workspaces with other licensed users
Additionally, Workspaces for all users are “active” in that:
- Widgets based on WebAides (i.e. Calendars, Address Books, Blogs, Tasks, Links, Documents, etc.) auto-update themselves so that any changes made to the underlying entries are visible to you within one minute.
- The “Email Quick Check” widget which shows you the status of one or multiple email folders updates your folder status automatically every two minutes.
- The “Notepad” widget auto-saves your changes, merges them with changes made by others and auto-updates your display with the most recent merged content — real-time collaborative note taking.
- Other widgets whose content can change also update automatically.

 LuxSci has expanded the functionality of its Notepad widgets to make them ideal for collaborative editing, especially in the context of shared Workspaces.
The Notepad widget is available to all LuxSci users. It provides a customizable area where you can view and edit notes — in either plain text or using a visual editor with full HTML markup support. The Notepad widget auto-saves any changes you make to your notes within seconds of your changes — no need to press a “save” button”. It’s easy – you just type.
