Import CSV files into your MySQL database tables

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

LuxSci’s MySQL database hosting console now enables you to import data into MySQL database tables directly from a CSV (Comma Separated Variables) file, e.g. a simple and universal form that spreadsheets can be saved or exported to.

Why would you want to import data from CSV?  Well, you could do the same thing by writing SQL code and importing this to your database or by connecting remotely to your database and issuing commands.  But both of those methods take some time and expertise to set up.  If you have a spreadsheet of data or a CSV of data created from some other system (e.g. customer information, contact lists, inventories, etc.), you can simply upload this file and populate your database with its new contents in a matter of seconds.

Your Documents – Online, Secured, and Shared

Friday, August 31st, 2012

Online document storage and collaboration is a hot topic, especially when it involves security, HIPAA compliance, complex sharing scenarios, and advanced file management features.

Health care providers seek simple but compliant document storage, sharing, and retrieval solutions that replace storage on jump drives and laptops. Web developers enjoy automatically archiving the contents of web form posts (e.g. contact forms, inquires, orders, etc.) in backed-up, web-accessible document storage locations.  Businesses constantly ask about setting up myriads of file shares with complex logic as to who has what kinds of access to the files.

LuxSci’s free WebAides collaboration suite includes “Documents”,  our full-featured storage service.  In the following sections, we address how WebAides Documents can be used in various scenarios.

2. The form data to be transmitted securely and saved

3. To be able to securely download a spreadsheet of all of the submitted form data in the morning.

They wanted to know if there was any existing solution for this scenario … and how complicated it might be to set up.

Combine Multiple Stored CSV Files into a Single Merged CSV File For Export

Friday, July 16th, 2010

LuxSci has added a new tool to its Document WebAides for downloading multiple CSV files in one merged file. This will aggregate data from all selected files, sorting alphabetically by column, and will automatically prompt you to download it once the merge is complete.

This feature is especially useful to SecureForm users who are storing form data in WebAides in CSV format and wish to download it all at once.

Look for the “Download Merged CSV” option in the Entries dropdown menu in the Document WebAides interface.
